[Solved] keyframing inflow stop/start
wasn't sure how to word the title better, but what I'm trying to get at is that, when keyframing the inflow to start/end, there's no fluid lingering either before or after, I'd like a feature where you can set inflows to "stop" at a specific frame(s), which will cut the flow, but won't make the fluid dissipate at the same time, however, I think it would be weird if we got an inflow "stop" feature without a "(re)start" to pair with it, I've looked on the github's wiki page, but no mention of such a feature at all, which is absurd to me that this isn't currently a thing, considering flipfluids has been worked on for 5 years now
weird that there isn't more activity in these forums, I was thinking, at bare minimum, 100 out of the 10k+ customers would be around here, but as long as the developers see this post, that's fine by me, I'm just flabbergasted that nobody already suggested a feature like this
turns out, you can keyframe the "enabled" box for inflows, which provides the very effect I desired!
Hello Mr Mage! Sorry, that there was a delay with an answer.
The forum does not exist as long as the FLIP Fluids Addon does. But the number of registered users is increasing.
We receive most inquiries via our support form. Whenever we have processed these requests, we look at the contributors here in the forum. This can sometimes take a while. Especially if there is a weekend in between.
You could already answer your question yourself. Very good!
Just as a side tip: You can even switch this checkbox on/off automatically using the graph editor - like with a sprinkler.
There is also a video about it here:
