Version 1.7.3 released!

version 1.7.3 (Nov 24 2023)

  • FLIP Fluids 1.7.3 is a small update to add bug fixes and performance improvements.
  • Compatibility Notes:
    • FLIP Fluids 1.7.3 is officially supported in Blender 2.80 to Blender 4.0.
      • MacOS Support: Due to an issue in Blender 4.0.0 that can result in a baking error, the updated Blender 4.0.1 release may be required.
    • Blender 4.1: At this moment there are no known compatibility issues between this version of the FLIP Fluids addon and the latest daily build of Blender 4.1, but this may change as Blender 4.1 develops.
  • Added: Domain > Particles > Skip Particles With Source ID Value option.
    • If the fluid particle Source ID attribute is enabled, this setting can be used to skip exporting fluid particles that have the specified Source ID value.
    • Useful to reduce cache size and speed up playback in situations where particles are not needed from a specific Fluid or Inflow objects.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed issue where Inflow/Fluid UI may not be fully drawn if a Domain object was not present in the scene.
  • Bug Fix: Removed costly simulation calculation that was not required if the fluid particle export feature was enabled.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed issue where keyframed Domain > Particles > Particle Export Amount values may be incorrect within the simulation.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed UI issue where Domain > Particles > Display and Render Settings submenu label would be greyed out incorrectly.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed issue where exported fluid particles against an obstacle could result in render flickering due to intersecting with the obstacle.
  • Improvement: Performance optimizations for lower resolution simulations
